David K. Secrest (left) and Jack Wilkinson, both former Atlanta Journal-Constitution writers, place a plaque on the wall of a booth at Manuel’s Tavern, honoring their long-time friend and colleague, Ron Taylor. It reads:
Ron Taylor
Rover & Meatloaf Lover

Ron and a friend or two or three often would often stop in at Manuel’s Tavern for a glass of unsweetened iced tea and, occasionally, lunch. Meatloaf was his favorite, although he resisted the urge to indulge every time he was there.
